Never A Dull Moment

Our Montessori day school in Wisconsin has been humming with activity. Parents and students alike have been involved in many, many community building activities.

The Adolescent Students have learned screen printing over the last couple of months and have designed and created school t-shirts which are going to disappear very quickly, given the high interest among the families to buy this lovely spirit wear

The Elementary Students have launched their Coffee and Scram business where they bake on Thursdays and sell their baked goods, coffee and hot chocolate on Fridays. The school lobby comes alive on these mornings, filled with the smiling faces of families supporting this venture . The students research 3 charities to donate their annual earnings from the business.

The Children's House students just completed a Winter Clothing Drive - where they collected 8 large bags of winter wear and accessories. These were taken over to the Hope Center in Waukesha County - a free store that serves over 800 homeless people.

All our students came together in a vibrant and joyful celebration of the Lunar New Year a couple of weeks ago - reminding everyone on the immense value that Maria Montessori placed on opening the eyes of our students to the rich diversity of the human race - as a key stepping stone to peace in the world.

Families have been building community, too, by attending the many Parent Evenings - notably the most recent when Children's House parents were able to spend a few hours doing the Montessori works, their children had picked for them. This upcoming Friday, the Adolescent and Elementary students present Desserts and Demos - when they present their favorite lessons to the parent community.

Never a dull moment at our Montessori school!
