The Community Farm

Hello!

What role does a farm have in a Montessori Education?

The farming program engages students in all aspects of running a successful farm. Students participate in a range of farm activities ranging from planting seeds, growth management and harvesting. Animal husbandry forms part of the day to day life of our students. Raising plants and animals provides a wide spectrum of learning opportunities incorporate all manner of subjects.

The farming program continues to provide a natural platform for practical life skills and global citizenship. Additionally, farming sales and fundraising efforts help to ensure students are connected with the real-world economics of running a farm while helping to support the program itself.
